Gifts for cyclists: 12 ideas for road, gravel and mountain riders
· 4 min read

Cyclists have their bike and its parts set up exactly how they like them, so don't guess at saddles, pedals or gearing. Still, there are plenty of things almost every rider is missing, and a few gifts they would never buy for themselves.
These ideas work for road riders, gravel riders and mountain bikers. Prices are a rough guide.
Small gifts under 500 Kč
1. Inner tubes, patches and CO2 cartridges
Consumables that run out exactly when you need them. Check the wheel size and valve type, or give patches and cartridges that fit everyone.
2. A cycling cap or neck warmer
For under the helmet in spring and autumn. A thin merino or technical cap keeps the ears warm and takes no room in a jersey pocket.
3. A good bottle
Cyclists lose bottles, break them and leave them at friends' houses. An insulated bottle that keeps water cold in summer is always welcome.
Gear up to 2 000 Kč
4. Lights
A front and rear light that charge over USB. Useful even for road riders who only ride in daylight, because a flashing light during the day makes them much more visible to drivers.
5. A multi tool
A compact tool with hex keys, torx and a chain breaker fixes most problems on the road. It fits in a saddle bag.
6. A saddle bag or frame bag
For a tube, tools and a snack. Gravel riders and bikepackers will appreciate bigger bags for longer trips.
7. A relief of their favourite climb
Cyclists have climbs they know metre by metre. A relief of a route they rode is a 3D model of the terrain with the route raised in a bright colour, on a wooden base with your own engraving. We make it, so we are biased, but on a cyclist's desk it looks better than another Gran Fondo medal.

The 10 cm size costs 1 499 Kč, 15 cm is 1 749 Kč and 20 cm is 1 999 Kč. One thing matters for cyclists: the route has to fit in a square of about 80 × 80 km. A full day road loop often goes beyond that. These work best:
- a famous climb, such as Mont Ventoux, the Stelvio or the Grossglockner,
- a shorter loop from home or a gravel ride,
- one stage of a multi day trip instead of the whole route.
The engraving fits three lines of 40 characters, for example the climb, the elevation gain and the date:
- Passo dello Stelvio
- 1 808 m of climbing
- 3 August 2025

8. A bike computer
Only if you know what they want, and whether they already use a watch. Otherwise chip in for a model they picked themselves.
9. A service voucher
A full service before the season is something cyclists like to put off. A voucher for their favourite bike shop pleases anyone who rides a lot.
10. A bike fit
A professional bike fit gets rid of sore backs, sore knees and numb hands. For someone who rides thousands of kilometres a year it is one of the best gifts there is.
Experiences
11. A cycling trip to the mountains
A weekend in the mountains with famous climbs, from the Jeseníky to the Alps. Plan the route, book somewhere to stay and ride together.
12. A race or Gran Fondo entry
Sportives and races have limited places and sell out early. An entry to the event they keep talking about gives them a clear goal for the whole season.
How to get the route
Cyclists nearly always record their rides, so the route exists:
- From Strava. Paste the activity link on the create page. See How to export a GPX from Strava for details.
- From Garmin or Wahoo. See How to export a GPX from Garmin Connect. In the Wahoo app, look for export or share on the activity.
- From a planner. If you want to give a climb they haven't ridden yet, draw it in Komoot and download it as a GPX.
When to order
We make every relief after you order. It takes a few days, then we hand it to Packeta or a courier. For Christmas, order with time to spare, ideally at the start of December.
